FAQs
-
Get in touch using the contact me page outlining your requirements. I can then let you know price and availability and we can discuss any questions you may have. Once you are happy, I will send you an invoice, and you can make a secure booking with a 25% deposit.
-
I work from clear, well lit photographs, the higher the resolution the better. These can be sent to me via email, WhatsApp or through the post. Individual requirements can be discussed before any artwork is agreed.
-
Lead times vary depending on the time of year and the size of artwork you are looking for. The larger the picture, obviously the longer it will take. But sometimes smaller artworks can be fitted in between larger bookings. I will always try to accommodate your request, and will finish a commission within any agreed upon deadline. I will not give an unrealistic completion date to avoid any disappointment, and would recommend a gift voucher for a special gift where time is limited.
-
Yes, absolutely. Let me know your phone number and availability via the contact me page, and I will endeavour to call you at a time that suits you.
-
No, not at all. Not everyone is a fan of talking on the phone so if you prefer, all your requirements can be discussed via email.
-
Yes, I ask for a 25% deposit to secure a booking.
-
Yes, your deposit is refundable up until the point where your artwork has been started. Once the artwork has been started, if you wish to cancel your commission, I will refund what is reasonable, minus material costs and time taken.
-
If you are local to me I can hand deliver your item or arrange for a collection. If you are further afield, I generally use Royal Mail tracked delivery. If you require a specific delivery service I am always happy to accommodate your request where possible.
-
To arrange any type of gift voucher please get in touch via my contact page or email me directly at philippapriorart@outlook.com.
Please provide details of which type of voucher you would like, the size of the portrait or the amount you would like to spend, and where you would like the voucher and final artwork delivered to. If you would like the voucher personalised, please also provide the recipients name and who the voucher is from. Alternatively, this can be left blank for your own customisation. You will then receive an invoice with payment details, and the voucher will be dispatched once payment has been made. All vouchers are valid for two years from date of purchase.
-
Delivery costs for commissions are dependant on size and destination, but I do not make a profit on delivery, so will only ever charge you what I am charged by the carrier service.
-
Get in touch via my contacts page, email or the phone number on the back of the voucher. Let me know your unique voucher code, and what you would like to redeem your voucher against. If you would like a fine art print, I will arrange for delivery. If you would like a bespoke piece of artwork, we can discuss your requirements and start the process.

Clairefontaine Pastemat is a high quality acid free card with a rough surface, specifically designed to use with pastels. The unique surface ensures the pastels adhere to the card making it possible to build up multiple layers of colour, giving a greater depth to the artwork.

I do not use fixative on my artwork as it can darken the overall look and sometimes stain the piece. I therefore recommend any artwork to be framed behind glass as soon as possible or kept flat under a protective layer like glassine, until this is possible. Care instructions are provided with each original piece of artwork purchased.
-
It is important not to touch the surface of your artwork as this may mark or smudge the medium used, and will introduce oils that can damage the piece over time. Therefore it is recommended the artwork is framed behind glass as soon as possible. Until the artwork is framed, you should keep the artwork flat, under a protective acid free layer like glassine. Do not rest anything heavy on top as this may create indentations or damage to the surface of the artwork.
